It’s 1997, and 22-year-old Oleg Kretsul has the world at his feet: the USSR junior judo champion is a contender at the Atlanta Olympics. Just months later, after his wedding, a devastating accident kills his young wife and her brother. Oleg survives – but at a terrible cost. Despite months of treatment, he learns he will never regain his sight.
Undaunted, in 2004, with the help of his friend Vitaly, Oleg makes a remarkable return to world-class sport as a Paralympian.
