Once a year, the quiet and remote village of Pievėnai in Samogitia comes alive. The local residents unite to celebrate Easter, doing their best to preserve the tradition of the Guardians of the Cross, which dates back to the nineteenth century. By observing the preparations of the local community with gentle humor and immersing the audience in the excitement of Easter night, the filmmakers raise questions about the relationship between the sacred and profane in the modern world. Let's travel to Pievėnai and experience the Easter night together.
