“The Girl with the Gun” is an animated story set during the Second World War. After losing her family during deportation, Magdė finds herself in a partisan bunker and joins a group of freedom fighters. As she begins to adapt to life among them, she learns to survive, face fear, and to hold on to hope for freedom.
Antanas Skučas is an award-winning Lithuanian film director, data artist and lecturer at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. He has been involved in animation since 2005 and was honoured as the Lithuanian Animator of the Year by the Lithuanian Animation Association in 2023.
His animation shorts have won numerous awards including the Lithuanian film industry’s Silver Crane Award for “Childhood Diary” (2009) and “Purga” (2023). Antanas is currently developing a feature-length animated film, ”The Girl with a Gun”. He is also active in the field of new media, including XR, VR, AR and AI.
